In addition to the elected Village Council, residents may contribute to the Village’s self-governance through service on committees. The Council makes all appointments to such committees.

The current committees are:
- Election Committee

- Community Engagement Committee & Street Captains
- Walkability Study Task Force (temporary)
- Public Safety Task Force (temporary)
All committee meetings are subject to the Maryland Open Meetings Act. Anyone interested in learning about the Maryland Open Meetings Act may take the free online training offered by the University of Maryland. A Certificate of Completion is available after the review.
